My Curly Hair Education

Hello! If you’re reading this it’s likely that you have come across my post on Instagram where I touched on my methodology where it comes to cutting, styling, and perfecting curly hair. In that post I just scratched the surface of what my preferred methods are when it comes to working with curly hair, while also discussing the education I have with this specific hair type

In this post, I want to delve a little bit deeper into what my specific methodology is when it comes to curly hair and why it works. Through education, apprenticeship, practice, and a lot of time, I have created a nearly foolproof way to create a healthy curly style for each of my curly haired clients. Let’s get into it!

So, what exactly is my methodology? To be honest, it’s best described as a fusion of a little bit of everything that I’ve learned. One of the biggest things that I’ve learned is that how hair is washed and dried can make a huge difference! During my appointments I spend a lot of time focusing on the proper way to cleanse, detangle, and condition your hair. When you know how to properly care for your curls, you are already on the road to creating your healthiest curls!

Another big hot topic question is, “What types of styling products should I use?” In my opinion, I prefer to keep the styling products to a minimum, but I am always ready and able to help you figure out what exactly will work best for your specific hair type and curl pattern.

The last, but one of the most important steps in my process is to cut your curls while they are dry. I prefer to cut curly hair dry because I can better see what your hair looks like on a day to day basis. This helps me to better craft my approach and tailor what I’m doing to best care for you and your hair!

Ultimately, my method is to make your hair care routine as simple and easy to follow as I can. My goal is to not only create the right haircut for you, but to also equip you with the tools and skills needed to replicate the salon fresh hair feeling, at home.
